Tina Qvarnstrom completes specialized training
Congratulations to Education Advocate Tina Qvarnstrom for completing the Special Education Advocate Training (SEAT), the only nationally developed and recognized year-long course that provides participants with training to become a special education advocate.
Tina has been with Cape Cod Advocate since 2012 and, since then, has been advocating for children in school systems through Cape Cod, Nantucket and Martha’s Vineyard.
In addition to her recent certification, Tina is professionally trained as an education advocate and parent consultant through the Federation for Children with Special Needs.
Tina has first-hand experience with adoption and the challenges of school-aged children transitioning into new environments. She blends her personal experience with strong training and ongoing professional development to help parents formulate the most appropriate education for their child, regardless of the disability.
Tina is a native of Yarmouth, where she and her husband also chose to raise their own family. As a product of Cape Cod public schools, and later a special needs parent and volunteer, Tina brings unparalleled familiarity of the local education systems to her work as an advocate.
